Playford management have, finally, reached the end of their tether with matchday lateness… and yes, we’re looking at you.
After a growing trend of players cutting it fine, or in some cases treating kick-off like a flexible suggestion, the decision has been made to bring in some long-overdue consequences.
Coach Josh Bolton didn’t mince his words:
“Boys, after a couple of discussions the past couple of weeks about lateness we are gonna start clamping down.
If you arrive after 9:50 you are gonna find yourself on the bench. The last couple weeks we’ve had people arrive late and still start and it isn’t fair on others who arrive on time. So from next week if you arrive after the scheduled meet there’s a high chance you could find yourself on the bench and the lineup being altered.”
In short:
Alarm clocks on. Boots on. Excuses off.
Management have stressed that it’s about fairness as much as anything—those turning up on time shouldn’t be losing their place to someone arriving mid-warm-up.
So consider this your friendly warning:
9:50 means 9:50. Not 9:51. Not “just parking now.” Not “be there in 2 mins lads.”
You’ve been told…
